Covid-19 Lockdown: Federal Polytechnic Nekede Launches e-Learning Platform For Students To Study Online

To enable students of Federal Polytechnic Nekede, Owerri in Imo State learn while staying at home over lockdown directives by the Federal Republic of Nigeria. 

The Rector directed that an e-Learning virtual classroom platform be created for all Academic staff of our Institution in line with Management’s vision of State of the Art academically sound, interactive, intelligent and informative environment as a measure to be active during the stay-at-home as directed by the Federal Government to reduce/eliminate the spread of the coronavirus pandemic. 

The e-Learning Platform has been designed and launched. The Platform is mapped to already existing domain for the school website. 

A subdomain has been created from the already existing domain (FPNO.EDU.NG). The newly launched e-learning platform can be accessed by visiting


- Note that the password is case sensitive.

- Only students who have paid their school fees can participate in the virtual classes. 

- Names of Students who have paid their school will be updated

- Students are adviced to go and pay their school fees so that they can participate in the online classes. 

- Assignments will be given as part of their continous assessment. 

- All Hods should urgently develop their e-Learning timetable for upload both on the website and on the different groups.

- Hods should monitor their lecturers to ensure that they login to the e-Learning portal and start lectures immediately. 

- Each department will be rated according to their activities and traffic on the eLearning platform.

- The Management will monitor strictly the performance and activities of each lecturer and query any lecturer who do not utilise this opportunity. 

This exercise is geared towards achieving the Rector's vision of optimum academic participation and performance for both staff and students.
