Tears As Fire Outbreak in Abia State Yesterday Destroys Goods and Machines Worth Billions of Naira




Owners of goods and machines that was destroyed by Fire yesterday are probably in tears because of their lost. 

Kingsparo TV learnt that Goods and industrial sewing machines worth billions of naira were destroyed by fire in Aba, Abia State. 

The incident occurred precisely at Old Express/Watchtower area of the popular Ariaria international market in Aba, Abia State. 

Kingsparo TV learnt that the fire started around 9 in the morning from a shoemakers store in one of the private buildings converted into market stalls beside the Umuehilegbu Industrial market within the complex.

A Mercedes Benz 1313 firefighting truck which belongs to the Abia State Government was destroyed by traders protesting about late firefighting response from the State firefighters. 




According to Aba Fire Service Department Zonal Commander, Mr. Okezie Uche said his office received a distress call from the market, he took four firemen to the scene, on reaching there, more than 1000 mob started beating them. 

Mr. Uche added that the Mercedes Benz 1313 driver was taken to the hospital because of injuries he obtained from beatings by the mobs. The Mobs succeeded in overturning their duty vehicle and taking away some vital parts.


Daily Sun reports that an eye witness said that the fire began from one of the shops when a kerosene stove fell down from where it was positioned onto shoe producing materials and ignited fire in the the shop.

 The fire spreads to other shops, including a tailoring complex with many heavy duty industrial sewing machines, domestic gas filling points and restaurants with high capacity cooling equipment and diesel powered generators.
