Fuel Hike: Nigerians Should Calm Down Buhari Knows What He is Doing

Following the recent increase of petrol price by the Pipelines and Product Marketing Company (PPMC).

PPMC, a subsidiary of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, NNPC, said the pump price of petrol has increased to N151.56 per litre.

Many Nigerians, Organizations and Bodies has reacted to the increase in price calling out the President of Federal Republic of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari in one way or the other.

Here is some reactions I read in Daily Post today:

1. The Nigeria Labour Congress, NLC, has criticized the federal government for the increment in pump price of petrol.

2. The Coalition of United Political Parties (CUPP) said it received with shock and disbelief the decision of the President Muhammadu Buhari administration to approve an astronomical increase in fuel price.

3. The Socio-Economic Rights and Accountability Project (SERAP) has told President Muhammadu Buhari’s government to immediately reverse the increment in pump price of petrol.

4. Afri-Goal Foundation, a Non-governmental organization has declared the President Muhammadu Buhari-led administration as a government that has no remorse for the hardship citizen are facing in the country.

5. The National Consultative Front, NCFront, has condemned the increment of petrol by the Nigerian government from N138.62 per litre to N151.56 per litre.

6. Reno Omokri, a former aide to ex-president Goodluck Jonathan has criticised Nigerian celebrities supporting BBNaija 2020 housemate, Laycon despite the recent change in petrol price.

7. The National Association of Nigerian Students, NANS, has charged President Muhammadu Buhari to resign.

NANS made the call in response to the hike in the pump price of petrol from N148 to N151.56k per litre by the Nigerian government.

8. Former Kogi State lawmaker, Dino Melaye, has condemned President Muhammadu Buhari’s government over the increment in pump price of petrol.

9. Human Rights Writers Association of Nigeria, HURIWA, has described as reprehensible the policy of hiking the rates of electricity supply and pump price of premium motor spirit simultaneously at a time that most Nigerians have lost their means of livelihood due to the COVID-19 outbreak.

Am not against all these reactions by my fellow Nigerians but please we all should calm down because our President Buhari knows what he is doing.

In one way or the other, the increase will be beneficial to us all.

THANK YOU!!!
