If You Love Your Life, Don't Do These Two Things Today As Nigeria Clocks 60

I sighted this opinion on Opera News and I Love It...

October 1st is Nigeria's Independence day and on such a day, there is always different forms of celebration and activities in all states across the country.

The day is always colorful with people putting on Green- white-Green colour at different location within and outside the Country to raise the flag of the country high.

The occasion which usually features parade at the Stadium in each state is always well attended by the President, state Governors, Politicians and citizens of different states across the federation.

Meanwhile, over the past one week now there has been calls and plans from different quarters as regards the independence day which is Coming up tomorrow October 1, 2020.

Nigeria will be celebrating her 60th Independence day celebration and everything has to go in order and peaceful and planned by the Federal Government.

However, in this article, looking at what is currently happening in the country, if you love yourself, here are 2 vital things you shouldn't never do today as the Country celebrate her independence.

1. Never Join Any IPOB Protest.

As Nigerians are celebrating 60th year of independence some other Nigerians who categorised themselves as secessionists are also preparing to act on the contrary.

The leader of the Indeginious People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu has called on the IPOB members to take to the streets tomorrow to Further press their demands for the actualization of Biafra Nation.

While members of IPOB in states like Anambra, Imo, Enugu, Abia have agreed to the directives of the their leader, they have also warned people to obey their sit-at-home order.

Recall that the Country as a whole has been facing challenges of internal insecurity which has killed so many people and sent many out of their homes and this had made the FG warn people planning to stage a protest tomorrow.

President Muhammad Buhari few months ago had proscribed IPOB and declared it a terrorist organization so it means their activities are not sanctioned by the FG and necessary security agencies.

After the sit at home order, the federal government warned the IPOB members to desist from organizing a protest so as not to engage in the various security agents on ground in a face off.

After it was proscribed, recall that a similar protest by the IPOB group staged in Enugu claimed the lives of IPOB protesters and many were arrested while two security operatives were reportedly killed during the protest.

According to Punch Newspaper, the various security agencies such as Army, DSS, Police and others have formed an operation known as "Operation Show of Force".

The security agents are out there to enforce law and order and allow the independence celebration go peacefully in the south eastern state.

However, in my opinion, if you love yourself, never join the IPOB protest because it is a proscribed group and tagged a terrorist organization so the Security agents will not leave any stone unturned by arresting anyone who goes against the law and order.

The gathering of IPOB is illegal and anyone one arrested will be duly prosecuted as enshrined in Nigeria Constitution.

2. Be guided, Do not Join The Revolution Now Protest.

Actually, it is not a crime to express your mind if you are not okay with an issue and protest according to the law is not illegal.

However, according to Omoyele Sowore, the revolutionary Now Protest taking place is about the hike in electricity tariff, increase in the fuel price in Nigeria as well as the inability of President Buhari to sack the service chiefs.

Omoyele Sowore

The leader of the Group Omoyele Sowore who is also the Publisher of SaharaReporters have been warned several times to desist from organizing protest which might causing disruption to the peace of the country. He was once arrested by the DSS and spent couple of months in the Secret police custody before he was eventually released.

Recall that the same revolution now protest which took place on August 5 in states like Osun, Oyo, Lagos saw some members of the group arrested by the men of the DSS.

After the DSS had arrested them, they were taken into custody by the Police men and many of them spent weeks behind bars before they were released.

Just like I said earlier, staying a peaceful protest is not the issue here but ever since the commencement of the protest, has there been any positive change it has brought at all?

Sowore has been adamant that the protest would go on as planned despite the fact that he has been unable to achieve anything ever since the First time the protest was held till now so people should stay away from joining the protest in order not to harm themselves in case of any confrontation between the protesters and the security agencies.

Despite the calls and warning by the Federal government against any protest, the IPOB and Revolution Now leaders have vowed to go ahead with the planned protest.

In my opinion, Nigerians should desist from joining any of the protest because no one knows what will happen and i am very sure no one want to be put behind bars for days and get prosecuted again.

Dear Readers, what do you think about the protest about to take place tomorrow? Is It okay for it to hold or not?

More so, Should people join or stay back at home to avoid any form of harm or arrest?
