Every vertebrate animal (human beings and animals) have two pairs of kidneys which are bean-shaped. This kidneys are very vital organ in the body which helps in the filtering of blood, regulates blood fluid balance maintaining the body's level of electrolytes and remove wastes from the body.


Kidneys are delicate organ of the body which can be easily prone to the risk of diseases. This diseases may include, chronic renal failure, acute renal failure, end stage renal disease, polycystic, kidney stones, etc.






W hen the kidney is affected by disease some symptoms will begin to show up and if you fail to give it proper attention it can begin to worsen. In this article you will be told of some of the symptoms that will show up when the kidneys are infected with disease. Here are some of the symptoms of kidney disease.

1. Fatigue

Getting tired easily can be an indication that kidney has been infected with disease. Healthy kidneys produce a hormone called erythropoietin (EPO) that helps regulate the body to make oxygen-carrying red blood cells. When the kidneys function ceases, they make less EPO. When the red blood cells to carry oxygen in the body are few then the brain and muscles gets easily tired.

2. Foamy or bubbly urine

Kidney disease may cause the urine to change. Your urine may become foamy or bubbly. This can make the urine to contain a high amount of protein.

3. Feeling dizzy, faint or weak

Anemia related to kidney failure is an indication that oxygen is insufficient for the brain and this can cause the body to easily feel weak, faint or dizzy.

4. Always urinating

The kidneys in the body system are responsible for making urine, so when the disease affects the kidneys the urine may be altered. The rate at which urine is passed out becomes more often and often and even in greater amounts than what it normally used to be. You may even suffer from pain while trying pass out urine.


5. Ammonia breath

Buliding up of wastes product in the blood can cause someone to have bad breath.

6. Feeling very itchy

The kidneys are organs in the body that helps remove metabolic wastes from the bloodstream. When the kidneys cease to perform this fuction, wastes begins to accumulate in the blood which can lead to severe itching.

7. Swelling in feet or hands

When kidneys are infected with disease, the extra fluid in the body can't be removed, which makes this extra fluid to accumulate in the body, leading to swelling in the hands, , legs, feet, ankles.

8. Feeling cold 

When you always experience cold, it can be a symptom of kidney disease.

9. Shortness of breath

Shortness of breath can be related to the kidneys in two ways;

• Extra fluid in the body system can build up in the lungs.

• Anemia that is a shortage of oxygen-carrying red blood cells, can starve the body from oxygen and short of breath.

10. Upset stomach, nausea, vomiting

When wastes builds up in the body too much it can lead to nausea and vomiting

11. Swollen or puffy face

Once the kidneys in the body can no longer remove extra fluid from the body system, the extra fluid begins to accumulate in the body thereby causing the swell on the face.


12. Having trouble thinking clearly

Anemia related to kidney failure shows that the brain is not receiving enough oxygen this can cause a lot of problem in the memory.
